What is data reporting?
Data reporting is sending all your litter information, OFA certificates, Utrecht DNA test results, and any illnesses diagnosed by your veterinarian to NKCSC so the club can send it to the VHNK to be added to the Club Register - a 1,400 page document that traces kooikers and their health testing results all the way back to the breed foundation dogs in the 1940s.
Why should I report my dog's litters and health test results?
Continuing to contribute to the database of the Club Register is vital for the future health of the breed. The VHNK works closely with the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands to study kooikerhondje health and genetics to create our breed-specific health tests. The statistics provided by the Club Register are an important part of that research.
What do I need to report?
Click the button below to send in any of the following reports, along with images of the official documentation, if you have not already done so. If you can't remember what you have reported or not, go ahead and submit all the results your dog has. Things to report are:
-- OFA Hips (test result number and pdf of certificate)
-- OFA Patellas (test result number and pdf of certificate)
-- OFA Eyes (test result number and pdf of certificate)
-- OFA/Utrecht vWD (test result number and pdf of certificate)
-- OFA/Utrecht ENM (test result number and pdf of certificate)
-- OFA CHIC # (number and image of certificate)
-- Utrecht Polymyositis marker status (copy of Utrecht report)
-- Any illness/disorder officially diagnosed by your veterinarian
-- Any litters born (an extensive form including registered names and registration numbers of the sire, dam, and every puppy, and a general overview of each puppy's markings, bite, tail, ears, behavior, and several photos of each puppy) The current form for litter submissions only allows you to submit information for 3 puppies at a time. If you have a litter with more than 3 puppies, please fill the form out as many times as you need to in order to submit your entire litter
The deadline to submit reports is April 1st!
Check out the updated website!
The NKCSC website recently got a makeover! Club members, Danny Gonzalez and Emma Vescovo have been working diligently since Fall 2023 to get all aspects of the website updated and add some new features, like the litter submission form and a members only section, to make the NKCSC website an English-language hub for all things Kooikerhondje!
Take some time to peruse the updated site and bring any comments or questions to the next club meeting. Following the club meeting, you will receive a link to create a password for access to the Members Only section. That email might get filtered into your spam folder, so keep an eye out for it!
